  • Career update from ...

"Having signed for Cork City in July 2006, Cathal went on loan to Waterford United during the July 2007 transfer window. He made 10 league appearances for The Blues but was released by Cork at the end of the 2007 season.

"Cathal spent the next two and a half years with his boyhood club Ballincollig and local Cork side Blarney United before re-signing for Cork City (as Cork City Foras Co-op) at the start of the 2010 season. He made 10 league appearances that season but, having suffered an injury, Cathal was not offered a contract for 2011.

"In August 2011 Cathal had recovered his fitness and re-signed for Cork City, making 3 substitute appearances as the Rebels won the 2011 First Division title. He made just 3 substitute appearances in 2012 as City returned to the Premier Division and, at the end of September, Cathal left Cork to sign for Munster Senior League side UCC."

  • Cathal joined Cork City FORAS Co-op in March 2010, you have George O'Callaghan down playing for this club, but they seemed to have just gone back to calling themselves Cork City for 2011.

Not sure Cathal played many games for them in 2010, his older brother also plays for the Cork club

[To avoid confusion I've changed George O'Callaghan's listing to plain Cork City - the name Cork City FORAS Co-op was used - temporarily - between the clubs winding-up and re-birth in 2010 - Ralph]

  • After leaving Waterford United he moved to junior club Blarney Utd, but finds himself back at Cork City for 2011

  • Spent February 2006 on trial at Southend and played in at least one reserve game for the Essex Club

  • A member of Town`s FA Youth Cup winning team in 2005, he scored both goals in the first leg of the final against Southampton. Has represented the Republic of Ireland from U-13 to U-18 level`s.

  • Came to Ipswich from the Ballincollig soccer academy in Ireland.Spent the 2007 season on loan from Cork City to Waterford Town. At the start of the 2008 season, Cork City released Cathal.Cathal`s brother Cillian plays for Cork City. Not sure who he is palying for this year, possible playing for local Munster side, Blarney Utd.
