Just to keep the doubters at bay, Jason still remains the youngest goalscorer in the top flight of English football. When Wayne Rooney scored his first Premiership goal for Everton against Arsenal on 19th October 2002 he was only five days short of his 17th birthday, 10 months older than Jason. Whilst Rooney may be the youngest Premiership goalscorer, we all know that football began long before 1992!
