Hi. Met Les today, he took me from Boxford to Colchester in his cab. Charming man. Tells me that White Hart Lane is the only London stadium he didn't play at. Described his career ending injury as a "pelvic" one. Always enjoyed visits to see Spurs play at Portman Road. Really atmospheric stadium. Good luck for the rest of the season.

An ever recurring groin strain forced Les to quit the professional game around September 1982 although he later made a comeback in Finland and also played in the Eastern Counties League for Stowmarket

Seen Les Tibbott play in a friendly match for Sheffield United against Clyde at Shawfield in 1981, Clyde brought on a sub at half time that night who's well known throughout the UK these days, his name Pat Nevin.

After finsihing in pro football came back to Ipswich and was in the Stowmarket Town team that won the Suffolk Premier Cup in 1986/87
Never met or saw him but I know he came to play in Finland for TP-Seinäjoki year 1985. TP-Seinäjoki played in the Finnish 3rd division, and Les proved to be excellent player at that level. 1986 he was given player-manager role, he was still one of the best players in the division and lead his team to their first-ever promotion to second division.
