  • Ron Wigg was a special man to alot of young men inspiring, and daring to follow in his footsteps. In the early 90s he was our coach, mentor and freind. I missed our run at a national championship due to surgery, but he would still give me a call from time to time and see how I was doing. It has been nearly twenty years since I played for him, but every team I coach I tell them about the great Ron Wigg and all the fantastic players I had the privledge to play with at Club Ohio. I still think of him often and dream the dream.

  • Wiggy was my Regional Team coach around the years from 90-95. He took us to England which was a wonderful experience. He showed us the ropes everywhere.

  • Ron played 51+12 matches for Grimsby, not 15+12.

I started supporting Watford just before Ron was signed from Ipswich in 1970. I have clear recollections of him and also Charlie Woods who I also believe played for Ipswich. I suppose I was at an impressionable age but Ron seemed a most charasmatic individual and a good honest centre forward who loved ploughing the Vicarage Road mud. I was sad to see him get transferred and both saddened and shocked to realize that he had died at such a young age.

  • I played for Ron with my old club team, Club Ohio, in the US from 1990 to 1994. He led us to the u-17 national championship in 1993. One of the most charismatic people I have ever met, and it was an honor to play for him. He really promoted the spirit of the game to his players. Ron was a pioneer of soccer in the US.

  • date signed fot ITFC should prsumably be April 1967 not April 1997 [date corrected - thank you]
