  • After leaving Ipswich in the Summer has now been appointed Chief Scout at Colchester United

  • McCall played in both legs of the 1982 European U-21 Championship Final for England in a 5-4 aggregate win. In addition to the U-21's McCall played for England at schoolboy and youth levels.

  • Former Town left-back, and current reserve team coach, Steve McCall was ever present for the Blue’s in two consecutive seasons (1981-82 and 1982-83). A product of Town`s youth system, Cumbrian McCall signed pro-forms in October 1978. He gained 6 England caps at U-21 level and made 264 league outings for Town before moving to Sheffield Wednesday for £300,000 in June 87. He was player-manager at Plymouth in the early 90’s and also turned out for Torquay before retiring, from the playing side of the game, in the summer of 2000.

  • I believe that Steve McCall made 321 appearances for Ipswich. My analysis is as follows: League 249(8) - 7 FA Cup 23(1) - 1 FLge Cup 29 EURO 15(1)- 3 FMC 3 Play Offs 2 - 1
