Steve Vale is my Dad, so proud of all what he did as a youth player for Ipswich Town back when they were a Manchester United of football today. I still have his pro contract which is signed by the legend that is Sir Bobby Robson. Dad was also the only local lad in the youth team at the time so he also done his home town proud. I know he is up in heaven playing football right now. RIP Dad your a legend

Steve Vale who scored twice in the first leg of the F A Youth Cup final v Bristol City in 1973 died on Saturday (October 3rd). Not sure how old he was but he went to the same school as me - Chantry secondary in Ipswich - and was a fifth year when I started there in 1971 so about 54/55.
