  • Will make ITFC history today when NZ take on Belarus at Coventry's Ricoh Arena by becoming the first current Town player to take part in the Olympics. Other Town related Olympic participants are (1) Vlado Bozinoski who represented Australia twice at the Seoul games in 1988 a few years before signing for Town. These two appearances were in the 1-0 defeat of Yugoslavia (as an 87th minute substitute) and the 3-0 loss to the USSR (again as a sub). (2) Bruce Twamley coached the Canadian mens team at one of the Summer Olympics (not sure which one though possibly 96 or 2000). (3) The two daughters of New York born Gerry Baker, Karen & Lorraine, both represented GB at the LA Olympics in 1984, the latter finishing 5th in the Women's 800m final.
