Began his professional career with Ipswich in 1969 and played just two first team games before joining the Vancouver Whitecaps in 1975. He spent three seasons with the New York Cosmos playing with the likes of Pele, two seasons with the Minnesota Kicks and three seasons with the Edmonton Drillers of the North American Soccer league. Played for Canada between 1972 and 1978, accumulating nine international caps, seven of them whilst at Portman Road.
