Roy Keane survives the latest storm after Jason Scotland's double

Ipswich eased the pressure on manager Roy Keane as they romped to their biggest win of the season to end their nightmare run of six successive defeats.

But Leicester were left raging at Warwickshire referee Stuart Attwell, who controversially allowed the game to go ahead in a blizzard and then allowed it to finish, despite being forced to take the teams off for 10 minutes early in the second half to let an army of ground staff clear the pitch markings.

Attwell then even played an extra minute over the alotted three minutes of injury time.

Ipswich were three goals to the good at the time of being taken off, thanks to an avalanche of first-half strikes and Leicester boss Sven Goran Eriksson argued desperately that the match should be abandoned.

But Attwell stood his ground, insisted the fixture was fulfilled and Keane was left celebrating a rare victory that has halted his struggling side’s freefall towards the relegation zone.

Keane said: ‘Basically, I think we just adapted to the conditions better than Leicester did. It was touch and go whether the game went ahead or not, but we started quickly and, once we had scored three goals in the first half, it was game over.
