Match Report

Bent rescues' a point

Darren Bent grabbed a last-minute leveller to rescue a draw at home to Grimsby.

First-half goals from Paul Groves and Michael Boulding had given the visitors the upper hand.

But Grimsby's defence could not survive a second-half onslaught from Joe Royle's men.

The Mariners, desperate to pull themselves out of the relegation zone, opened the scoring.

Player-manager Groves took advantage of a mix-up in the home defence on eight minutes to drive in from five yards.

Within four minutes Bent found an answer for Ipswich scoring from close range after a good cross from Marcus Bent.

Ipswich then pushed for a second but it was the visitors who went into the interval ahead.

Boulding started and finished the move, running unchallenged into the danger area and scoring left-footed under the body of Pullen.

As time ticked by Chris Makin, Thomas Gaardsoe, Richard Naylor and Ambrose all try to find the equaliser.

Before Darren Bent finally equalised for the second time from close range after being teed up by Gaardsoe.
