Mick McCarthy lost out again
Ipswich took their unbeaten run to eight but lost out yet again after being in front.
The Tractor Boys have dropped 23 points from winning positions, the most in the Championship.
And boss Mick McCarthy was not feeling charitable. I dont live in a world where everything is shiny and happy, he said.
We might have had two more points but we didnt. But we are top six and thats testimony to the lads who have been just great.
Charlton boss Chris Powell was delighted to have achieved his aim of taking something from all four games over the holiday period.
Powell said: My players have been excellent. We have won one and drawn three and the position we are in means each point is priceless.
Ipswich went ahead in the first half, when Richard Wood turned a Daryl Murphy cross into his own net.
Charlton skipper Johnnie Jackson came off the bench to equalise for the Addicks in the 90th minute.
Wood had been fortunate not to concede a second-minute penalty when Paul Taylor went down.
Referee Stuart Attwell then refused Charlton a spot-kick when Cameron Stewart went over under a challenge from Luke Chambers but the winger was booked for diving.
McCarthy said: We should have had a penalty and they should have had one. He didnt give either.
And when Attwell did award Ipswich a penalty, for a foul by Jordan Cousins on Paul Anderson, keeper Ben Alnwick pushed David McGoldricks shot on to a post.
