IPSWICH 0 HULL 1: MATTY FRYATT SHUTS UP KNOCKERS
Striker Fryatt, 25, took a heap of stick after a glaring miss on the opening day loss at home to Blackpool.
But after latching on to a Paul McKenna long ball and finishing through keeper David Stockdales legs, Fryatt said:
I got criticism from the television and there were some unnecessary opinions put forward.
Everyone is entitled to those opinions but forwards miss chances.
Some people were over-critical but you have to keep believing in your ability and if I get enough chances I know I will score.
Ipswich skipper Grant Leadbitter, who has been offered a new contract after Portsmouths interest, said:
Our home form needs to be better than last season and that is something we have to deal with if we want to go forward.
We finished the first half well but didnt get going in the second and got punished for that.
If we dont put chances away thats what happens.
