Huddersfield Town 3 Ipswich Town 1
HUDDERSFIELD, hard-working and efficient, recorded their third win in eight days, enabling them to move to within four points of Manchester City, the First Division leaders.
Victory over a disappointing Ipswich followed derby successes over Yorkshire neighbours Barnsley and Sheffield United and stretched the home side's unbeaten run to an impressive five games.
Huddersfield came from behind to overcome the visitors, who had won three of their previous four fixtures, and if one man contributed to an emphatic and deserved achievement it was left-back Jamie Vincent.
He provided the crosses for all three Huddersfield goals, the first on 36 minutes when Jon Dyson's header wiped out the 15th-minute lead Matthew Holland, the Ipswich captain, had given his side after David Johnson's initial attempt had been blocked by Kevin Gray.
Two minutes into the second half, Vincent's powerfully struck centre came off Marcus Stewart for Chris Beech at the far post to give Huddersfield the lead. Then Stewart, the home side's leading scorer, tucked away his 11th goal of the season to stretch the home side's advantage with Vincent again the provider.
