Ipswich Town 2 Oxford United 1
KIERON DYER may have failed to score during Ipswich's third victory in four games but his performance will live long in the memory of those who witnessed it.
Oxford simply could not keep track of the wiry midfielder, who created a plethora of chances for his team-mates and also himself.
George Burley, the admiring Ipswich manager, said: "Kieron was all over the place and he could have scored three or four himself." The big question that remains for Burley, however, is just how long he can hold on to his talented 20-year-old if Ipswich fail to get promoted.
Burley's side moved a step closer to reaching their Premiership goal thanks to an inspired opening spell. Matt Holland swept the ball home from close range in the sixth minute following a Jamie Clapham corner and almost immediately Mark Venus added a second from the penalty spot. Christophe Remy reduced the deficit but Ipswich soon regained control and should have won by a greater margin.
