Magilton pleased with draw
Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilon was pleased with his side's performance in the 2-2 friendly against Brechin on Thursday night.
Goals from Matt Richards and Billy Clarke earned the draw, but the Town boss was particularly pleased with the performances of some of the younger players.
"It was a good exercise for us and one we needed," Magilton told the club website.
"It was important to get a game under our belt after last week's defeat at Colchester and I was pleased with the lads.
"Brechin deserve credit for the way they played the game and it was certainly a good workout for us.
"It gave us a chance to see some of the younger lads in action, lads like Sammy Moore, Scott Barron and Martin Brittain.
"We have not played much reserve team football lately and it's important these players get some match experience. The three of them acquitted themselves very well and I was delighted with them."
