El Hadji Diouf the difference
Three goals in nine minutes midway through the second half steered Bolton into the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time in three years.
Honours were even at half time but Bolton, inspired by El Hadji Diouf, stepped up a gear after the break.
The controversial Senegalese International, a 25th minute replacement for the injured Kevin Davies, set up the first for Stelios after 60 minutes with a neat through ball that the Greek midfielder eased home from 10 yards.
Then, five minutes later, Diouf broke down the middle after the ball had run lose and then Henrik Pedersen on his left and the big Dane tore into the penalty box before cracking home a great left foot cross shot.
Four minutes later, Pedersen, who had earlier missed a sitter after being set up by Diouf, struck again.
This time, substitute, Kevin Nolan was the provider winning the ball with a crunching midfield tackle before sending Pedersen away very much in the same way as his previous goal.
And he completed it in the same manner with an even hotter cross shot.
Ipswich hit back a minute later to deny Bolton a rare clean sheet when Tommy Miller side footed the ball home from 12-yards.
