Match Report

Ipswich Town 1 Blackburn Rovers 1

This last League match of the season at Portman Road was the Town's 15th successive match without defeat, in fact the point in this 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers was enough to make sure of the Second Division Championship.

It was a game of sharp contrast between spells of indifferent play. Ipswich produced moments of brilliance and they were just about the better side. Both goals came in the first half.

Crawford headed the Town into a 26th minute lead only for Martin to equalise for the Rovers three minutes before half time.

This is the Town's fifth championship win in fourteen years.
