Jim Magilton fuming as Tractors give in

JIM MAGILTON accused his Ipswich flops of surrender as Doncaster completed a double to all but end their drop fears.

The Tractor Boys have managed just one win in their last 10 home league games and fed-up fans called for Magilton's head.

The Ipswich boss rapped: "I feel particularly let down today because we downed tools. We looked as if we capitulated against a side who showed more desire.

"I'm not offering any excuses. More than one or two will have to look at themselves in the mirror. I was not surprised at the crowd reaction - I expected it."

Doncaster thoroughly deserved their success after four straight defeats.

But there was a huge slice of luck about their ninth-minute opener when Gareth Roberts' cross from the left looped over back-pedalling keeper Richard Wright and dropped in at the far post.

Owen Garvan levelled three minutes later from the edge of the penalty area after Pablo Counago's neat lay-back.

Connor Wickham, just 16 years and 11 days old, became the youngest-ever Ipswich player when he came on as substitute midway through the second half.

But the schoolboy striker was unable to boost Town's dismal home record.

Paul Heffernan put Rovers back in front on 74 minutes after Wright saved his initial header.

And James Hayter came off the bench to seal it five minutes from time.

Cautious Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll said: "Are we safe? What's safe? We've not looked at the bottom of the table all season, so I'm not going to start now."
