Players paid their respects - Keane
Ipswich manager Roy Keane believes his side's performance in the 3-1 victory over Valladolid was a fitting tribute to the memory of Sir Bobby Robson.
Former Town boss Robson, who won the FA Cup with the Suffolk club in 1978 and brought UEFA Cup glory to Portman Road in 1981, died at the age of 76 on Friday morning following a long battle against cancer.
A minutes silence proceeded the friendly at Portman Road, where goals from Pim Balkestein, Connor Wickham and a Luis Prieto own goal saw Ipswich come from behind to win after Javier Baraja had opened the scoring for the Spanish club.
Keane said: "It's obviously a very sad day with the news of Sir Bobby. I think it was nice that we had a game though, because it gave the supporters a chance to show their appreciation for Sir Bobby.
"It was a night of celebration in some ways and I said to the players before the game that I wanted them to go out and pay their respects by putting in a good performance and play the way Sir Bobby liked the game played. I think they did that."
