Match Report

Nottm Forest 2 Ipswich 0

THE alarm bells may be ringing for Roy Keane - but it takes more than an annoying noise to wind him up these days.

There was a time when the sound of a mobile phone going off during an interview would have meant Keane's icy stare for the guilty reporter.

It happened again on Saturday - but this time Keane admitted he was not so easily irritated.

"Maybe next time," he said. "There've been a lot of changes."

The Ipswich boss even joked with Forest fans who taunted him with: "Keano, what's the score?". Two goals meant a two-fingered response.

But that came after his own fans had chanted: "Keano, sort it out!"

Keane said: "If we keep conceding goals like we are it'll be very difficult to get into the play-offs.

"We're certainly unhappy but our performances haven't been that bad.

"It's important to see the effort and spirit is there. Nobody thought it would happen overnight. We've a long way to go."

David McGoldrick's first City Ground goal since signing from Southampton 15 months ago and a spectacular 35-yard free-kick from in-form Lewis McGugan sealed Forest's points.

McGoldrick, making his first start of the season after injury, raved about McGugan's wonder goal. He said: "Lewis has got one of the best strikes I've seen in football.

He's a great talent and it was a spectacular goal."

LEWIS McGUGAN (Forest). Goal of the season contender.
