Ipswich 1 Wolves 2: McCarthy's men with work to do as Tractor Boys have better of game

Wolves came from behind to claim a morale boosting 2-1 victory at Ipswich — but Mick McCarthy’s side were second best for most of the game.

Paul Jewell has recruited wisely this summer and shaped a squad that will be a threat in the Championship next summer, with five of those signings starting against the Premier League side.

And it was one of the newbies that put them ahead when former Leeds and West Ham midfielder Lee Bowyer struck home on the stroke of half-time.

But Stephen Hunt levelled after the break and Mick McCarthy's men sealed the win from the spot as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake converted from 12 yards with five minutes remaining.
