Derby 0-0 Ipswich
Frank Fielding believes he will miss out on a shock Olympics call-up because hes too old!
The Derby keeper has been touted as a possible Team GB player for this summers London Games.
He did his chances no harm by keeping Ipswich at bay on Saturday in front of Joe Corrigan who was working for the FA.
But Fielding turned 24 last week meaning he will only be involved if Stuart Pearce decides to select him as one of three players over 23.
And the former England Under-21 man admitted: I think turning 24 will count against me. If I was 18 or 19, I think he would put me right in having played a full season for Derby.
Ive been put into the preliminary squad so well see how we go. Id have to be an over-aged player, but Id like to think I had a chance as Stuart is the boss.
He was my manager for the Under-21s. If he gives me the chance, Ill dive straight into it.
Fieldings sublime form denied both Lee Martin and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas with impressive saves in this bore draw.
This was a drab game, although Ben Davies hit the post for the hosts in the second half.
It was Towns sixth clean sheet in 13 matches. And defender Aaron Cresswell is delighted his side have turned things around after conceding for fun earlier in the campaign.
It wasnt nice to concede goals earlier in the season but weve now got two clean sheets in a row, he said.
Weve come a long way and want to finish as high as possible.
