  • "Darkie" was my great uncle and though I never knew him his legacy is remembered with pride and respect by all the family.

  • Initially joined the club as an Amateur

  • His brother-in-law,Joe Hart,was a well known boxer in and around Ipswich at about the same time.

  • "Darkie" Clements played for played for the Life Brigade Old Boys in the Ipswich and District League before joining Ipswich, died young due to heart failure following an air raid in Southampton during World War II
