Signed on a "trial" basis the American goalkeeper went on the 2002/03 pre-season tour to Denmark and played the full 90 minutes of the 2-1 defeat at Farum Boldklub. Whilst impressing Town goalkeeping coach Malcolm Webster, Cassar, who also had a spell with Bolton Wanderers, did not do enough to earn a full-time contract.
